SETUP

A drop box appears with four options.

1)  Herd
2)  Bull Turn Out Dates
3)  Preferences
4)  SPA Preferences

HERD:  Click on Setup in the Main Menu and select Herd.

A dialog box appears that has a "Select a Herd" window with five options.  Herd identification must be done before any other data can be entered.  

Add Addition of a new herd.
Edit Editing of an existing herd.
Delete Deletion of a herd.
Reports Will reveal the Herd Reference List.
Cancel Will cancel out of the box without any changes being made.
 The default herd is revealed on the bottom of the box.

BULL TURN OUT DATES:  Click Setup from the Main Menu and choose Bull Turn Out Dates.

An "Edit Bull Turn Out Date" box will appear with Turn Out Dates on both sides.  The right side allows the user to enter the Current Bull Turn Out Date by manually entering the date or by clicking the down arrow in the box that brings up a calendar for scrolling through the months to make a selection.  The user can make a herd selection by clicking the down arrow in that box.  On the left side of the box, the Edit Previous Bull Turn Out Dates will be listed.  The Previous Turn Out Dates has a box on the right that allows the user to click the down arrow that will present the preset dates.  The Edit Bull Turn Out Date has a box with a preset date and a down arrow that will bring up a calendar  IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THESE DATES ON THE LEFT SIDE ARE NOT ADJUSTED ONCE ENTERED! 

PREFERENCES:  Click Setup from the Main Menu and choose Preferences.

On the screen will be a window with three tabs.  The first tab will allow the user to enter Calf Miscellaneous Code Labels of their choice that appear as fields in those reports listed.  The second tab will allow the user to enter the EPD Labels of their choice that appear on those various reports.  The third tab will allow the user to select a sorting order for the cows and sires.  The default herd is revealed on the bottom. 

SPA PREFERENCES:  Click Setup from the Main Menu and choose SPA Preferences.

On the screen will be a window with three tabs.  The first "SPA" tab allows the user to enter the Reproduction Performance Measures Based on Exposed Females and Production Performance Measures.  This data will appear on the NCBA-IRM-SPA Summary page in Herd Analysis as the Typical ND SPA production.  The second "CSF" tab allows the user to enter ADG, WDA, Birth Weight, 205 Day Weight, Frame Score, and other calving data that will appear as the Typical ND Herd Performance on the Herd Comparison page in Herd Analysis.  The third "Other" tab is blank for future information.
