GENERAL REPORT INSTRUCTIONS

Click on Reports in the Main Menu and choose Calf Reports, Cow Reports, Sire Reports or Herd Reports.  Make Your Own is currently unavailable.

A dialog box will appear with a list of the various reports available.  Changes cannot be made to any lists at this time.  

Click on Preview to view the report before printing.  Click on Print to immediately print without viewing.  This applies to ALL reports (Calf, Cow, Sire and Herd)

  1. File:  Allows the user to print, set up the printer, or close the current screen.
  2. View:  Provides the user with different magnifications of the reports.
  3. About:  Explains the file.  The two left arrows that bring back the previous page in the current report.  The arrow with the line next to it will return to the first page of the report.
  4. These numbers reveal the page you are currently viewing.
  5. The two right arrows allow the user to move forward through the pages.  The arrow with the line next to it will go to the last page of the report.
  6. The "printer" icon allows the user to print.  Selections can be made to adjust the number of pages to be printed, one page or multiple pages.
  7. The "envelope" icon exports the file to a disk file.
  8. "Total" gives the total number of records.
  9. This drop-down box provides zoom options from 25% to 400% zoom.  Default is 100%.
  10. The two numbers on the top right of the screen reveals the current record out of the total number of records.

CALENDAR INSTRUCTIONS

Some reports will require date entry.  You will find instructions for operating the Calendar function below.

Click the down arrow to the right of the dates to bring up a calendar.  On this calendar will be an arrow on either side of the month and year.  These arrows allow the user to move through the months, past or previous.  Use the mouse to select the day of the month.  Click on the month and year to enter that date.  To manually enter the date, place the cursor on the left side of the box before the small dashes and enter in the form of MN/DA/YEAR (for example, 08/10/1999). 

 

CALF REPORTS

Calf Reference List--This report lists all the calves in the default herd.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  

Calf Reference List-Birth--This report lists all the calves born in that herd prior to weaning within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

Calf Reference List-Weaning--This report lists calves weaned in that herd within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

Calf Reference List-Backgrounding--This report lists calves in that herd that were placed in a background program within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function
      

Calf Reference List-Replacement--This report lists calves in that herd that were placed in a replacement program within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function       

Calf Reference List-Feedlot--This report lists calves in that herd that were placed in a feedlot program within that time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function.    
          

Calf Reference List-Carcass--This report lists calves in that herd that have a carcass report within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function
               

Herd Analysis--This report gives the user the opportunity to review the data from their herd and make comparisons with another typical herd.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

The Bull Turn Out Date is available by clicking the down arrow in the box.  Do not change any Turn Out Dates at this time!  The Weigh Date must be entered manually or by clicking the down arrow to bring up a calendar.  The user has the option to Overwrite or Create 205 Adjusted Ratios by checking the related box.  Additional options are the sorting criteria and the contemporary groups.  This program will also sort by contemporary groups.  
                

Post Weaning-Background--This report lists calves in that herd that have post weaning data within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd. The Start Birthdate, End Birthdate, Start Weigh Date, and End Weigh Date must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

Sex Groups and the sorting criteria are additional options to the user with this report.

Post Weaning-Yearling--This report lists the yearlings in that herd that have post weaning data within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate, End Birthdate, Start Weigh Date, and End Weigh Date must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

Sex Groups and the sorting criteria are additional options to the user with this report.  
                 

Post Weaning-Feedlot--This report lists calves in that herd in the feedlot program within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate, End Birthdate, Start Weigh Date, and End Weigh Date must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function.    

Sex Groups and the sorting criteria are additional options to the user with this report.    
                 

Post Weaning-Carcass--This report lists calves in that herd with a carcass report provided by the slaughter house within the time frame entered.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate,  End Birthdate, Start Carcass Date, and End Carcass Date must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

Sex Groups and the sorting criteria are additional options to the user with this report.    The program will generate a report by the sex of the calf and by group summary of each sex.  

Calf Notes Report--This report lists the calf notes in that herd from Birth through Carcass.  The user has the option of changing the default herd.  The Start Birthdate and End Birthdate must be entered manually or by using the Calendar function

 

COW REPORTS

Each report can be run to list either the active, culled, or pedigree cows.  The user has the option of changing the default herd. 

  • Choose the report you want to create from the Report List.  

  • Click "Select" to move on to the Selection Box.  

  • The small "X" on the top right corner of this box will close the box but will "Untag" all cows selected.  

  • Click OK to keep your selections active.  

  • The user can select specific cows by scrolling down the list of ID’s and clicking it to highlight.  

  • The "Tag All" button will select all the cows without highlighting.  

  • The "Untag All" button will remove the highlighted selections.  

  • The "Done" button will generate a report from those selected.  

  • The smaller box below  "Tagged" will count the cows selected.  

  • Pay attention to the choices on the bottom right corner of the box.  "Active" is the default status in the lower right-hand corner of the Selection Box.  

  • Once you have made your selections, click the "Done" button.  

  • Select Active, Culled, or Pedigree on the main box to coincide with the previous status.    

Cow Reports Available

Cow Reference List--This report will list cows from the default herd. 

Culled Reference List--This report lists the culled cows in that herd along with the culling code.  The user clicks on a code(s) and enters the Start Date and End Date for the season those cows were culled. 

 Lifetime Progeny Report-Short--This is a condensed report that lists the cows that have weaned a calf(s). The default sorting order is by Cow ID.     

Lifetime Progeny Report-Weaning--This report lists the cows in that herd that have weaned a calf(s).   The default sorting order is by Cow ID.     

Lifetime Progeny Report-Background--This report lists the cows that produced calves that were placed in a background program.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID.     

Lifetime Progeny Report-Replacement--This report lists the cows that produced calves that were used as replacements.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Lifetime Progeny Report-Feedlot--This report lists the cows that produced calves that were placed in a feedlot program.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Lifetime Progeny Report-Carcass--This report lists the cows that produced calves that went to a slaughter operation.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Cow Breeding Report--This report lists all the cows exposed to a bull within the time frame entered.   The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Cow Breeding and Conception Report--This report lists the cows that were exposed to a bull within the time frame entered.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Performance Pedigree Report-- This report lists the cows with their pedigree and progeny. The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Performance Report--This report lists the cows with their progeny.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID.     

Cow Notes Report--This report lists all cows and their notes.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID.  

SIRE REPORTS

The user has the option of changing the default herd. 

  • Choose the report you want to create from the Report List.  

  • Click "Select" to move on to the Selection Box.  

  • The small "X" on the top right corner of this box will close the box but will "Untag" all cows selected.  

  • Click OK to keep your selections active. 

  • The user can select specific sires by scrolling down the list of ID’s and clicking it to highlight.  

  • The "Tag All" button will select all the sires without highlighting.  

  • The "Untag All" button will remove the highlighted selections.  

  • The "Done" button will generate a report from those selected.  

  • The smaller box below  "Tagged" will count the sires selected.  

  • Pay attention to the choices on the bottom right corner of the box.  "Active" is the default status in the lower right-hand corner of the Selection Box.  

  • Once you have made your selections, click the "Done" button.  

 

Sire Reports Available

Sire Reference List--This report lists all the sires in the default herd. 

Performance Pedigree Report--This report lists the sires with their pedigree and progeny.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID.       

Performance Report--This report lists all the sires with their progeny.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID. 

Sire Notes Report--This report lists all the sires and their notes.  The default sorting order is by Cow ID.
