Guidelines for entering cow, calf, or sire data into the program can be found at http://www.chaps2000.com/guidelines.htm The CHAPS 2000 Cattle Breeds found at http://www.chaps2000.com/breeds.htm lists 89 breeds with their abbreviations. These are sorted alphabetically by the breed, not the abbreviations. When processing data within the CHAPS 2000 program, it is highly recommended that the producer use these codes and/or abbreviations when recording unique situations about a specific animal. This program specifically uses management codes, culling codes, and cattle breeds which requires the producer to follow these codes and/or abbreviations exactly when entering data.
