The CHAPS 2000 computer program is a data intensive computer program developed by the North Dakota Beef Cattle Improvement Association. The program is designed to help beef cattle producers--from the cow-calf enterprise to the retail enterprise--source verify beef. The purpose of source verification is to make it possible for producers to evaluate genetics so they can produce the kind of high quality, lean beef that consumers today want and need to maintain healthy lifestyles.
